R.I.P. Jay Evans Paul.

Born September 1915 in Brooklyn, NY. Deceased June 2007 in Newport News, VA.

And for the record, played a mean hands of cards. And finished my crackers after I licked the peanut butter off them. And never sounded anything by thrilled to hear my voice. And spent every moment he was allowed with his wife as she ailed from congestive heart failure, holding her hand, looking lovingly into her eyes.

Grandpa, I'll miss your voice, and your smile and laugh, and I am sorry I haven't managed to beat you in cards. Maybe next hand.

Isis,

So sorry to hear of your loss. He sounds like a great grandpa.

Beautiful sentiments.

Take care.

Marty

PS: I've locked up my blog. Certain Life transitions right now prompted it. I'll try and check in with you more often.

Dear Anonymous,

I think it was taken in our apartment at the time. I cannot tell for sure whether it is in DeKalb or Normal. I'm sure my folks would know. And I cannot say for sure who the mystery lady is. Grandma? Aunt Kate?

To those of you with q's about the photo:

It was taken in Normal, Illinois (how normal is that?) and the lady on Isis' right is her Aunt Kate.
