I know all there is to know about the waiting game.

Going for an arthroscopic MRI (where they squirt dye into the shoulder to better see what's going on with soft tissue) on Monday morning, and on Friday I discuss the results with the doc.

All that to say the cortisone shot did not really do the trick.

So we'll see....

Oh dear. So what are the possible steps after you get the MRI?

I've always been told cortisone only allows the use of the problem area while it heals, but doesn't actually correct the problem. It's simply a massive anti-inflammatory. I think getting an MRI to establish what your problem actually is will be an important step in your eventual recovery. Let us know what the results are won't you?

Isis, You've been pretty quiet lately, so I figured something was up.

I'm sure right now it's pretty depressing, and feels like you will never be able to swim again.

I've felt that way several times when I thought I could never run again.

Not fun.

I'm sending you rays of sunshine (and healing vibes to that shoulder). It WILL get better. You WILL do the things you need to to heal and....

You will swim again, Isis.

Remember that a POSITIVE attitude will help you heal quicker. Keep smiling, keep laughing, keep biking.running.walking.moving.

And of course, keep posting.

Please?

I hope it all works out for you. Athletes are the worst patients, I sometimes think, cuz we REALLY don't like the waiting game. In the meantime, indulge in yarn and keep knitting. (Love your 100 list.)
